Patrick O'Brian
Patrick O'Brian was an English novelist whose Master and Commander Aubrey-Maturin series, set during the Napoleonic Wars, is widely considered the finest sequence of historical sea fiction ever written. His command of naval history, his rich characterization, and his literary artistry made the series a cult classic before it became a major international bestseller.
