Richard Matheson
Richard Matheson was an American author and screenwriter whose horror and science fiction stories had an enormous influence on Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, and the entire horror genre. I Am Legend practically invented the zombie apocalypse and has been filmed multiple times. His short fiction for The Twilight Zone helped define that landmark series.
