Delany is an American science fiction author and literary critic whose work pushed the boundaries of the genre through complex prose, semiotics, and frank explorations of sexuality and race. Babel-17 and The Einstein Intersection won Nebula Awards in consecutive years. His novel Dhalgren remains one of the most experimental works in science fiction.
