Samuel R. Delany is an American science fiction author and literary critic whose work pushed the boundaries of the genre through complex prose, semiotics, and frank explorations of sexuality and race. Babel-17 and The Einstein Intersection won Nebula Awards in consecutive years. His novel Dhalgren remains one of the most experimental works in science fiction.
