Scott Turow is an American lawyer and novelist whose debut Presumed Innocent is one of the finest American legal thrillers ever written. His novels are more literary than most in the genre, drawing on his experience as a practicing attorney for their procedural authenticity. He is considered the literary progenitor of the modern American legal thriller.
