Daphne du Maurier
Daphne du Maurier was one of the most popular and critically respected British novelists of the 20th century, whose romantic Gothic thrillers such as Rebecca and Jamaica Inn combined mystery, landscape, and psychological intensity. Rebecca remains one of the most enduringly popular novels in the English language. Hitchcock adapted several of her works into classic films.
