Elmore Leonard
Elmore Leonard was the master of crime fiction dialogue, creating a uniquely American voice that blended humor, menace, and authenticity. His Detroit and Florida-based crime novels and westerns were celebrated for their crackling dialogue and vivid low-life characters. He was called the Dickens of Detroit and had enormous influence on crime writers and filmmakers.
