Loren D. Estleman is a prolific American crime and Western writer who has received six Spur Awards from Western Writers of America and four Shamus Awards from the Private Eye Writers of America. His Amos Walker Detroit PI series and his historical Western novels are his best-known work. He is considered one of the finest practitioners of both genres.
