Melanie Rawn is an American fantasy author whose Dragon Prince and Dragon Star trilogies were bestselling epics of the late 1980s and 1990s. Her intricate world-building and large cast of characters drew comparisons to George R.R. Martin. The Exiles trilogy was never completed due to the author's long struggle with depression.
