John Brunner
John Brunner was a British science fiction author whose Stand on Zanzibar and The Sheep Look Up are landmark works of ecological and sociological SF. Stand on Zanzibar won the Hugo Award and predicted overpopulation, information overload, and mass shootings with alarming prescience. He was one of the most politically engaged authors in the genre.
