Ursula K. Le Guin was one of the most celebrated American science fiction and fantasy authors, renowned for her anthropologically informed world-building and explorations of gender, society, and politics. The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed are considered masterpieces of the genre. She also wrote the beloved Earthsea fantasy series.
